Clothing with Dignity are sets of outer garments (for dry use) and under garments (for use in the shower or bath).

Like so many of the products in the Alzheimer’s Store, this one too, has multiple uses:

• “Mother won’t take her clothes off to shower.” The undergarments do not have to be removed, they are designed for the shower. Getting them wet is what they were made for. Not only that, but they lift up, allowing access by the caregiver to ALL parts of the body that need to be cleaned. But what is absolutely ingenious is that lifting the garment up shields your family member’s view of themselves naked. So your loved one never realizes they are exposed! Then after the shower, put on the terry cloth outer garment and simply remove the wet undergarment – quickly and easily. You’re loved one will have nothing to get upset about.
• “Dad refuses to get undressed in front of the caregiver.” Men’s garments work the same way as women’s, they are worn around the waist. Men can shower in their “wraps” and all areas can still be cleaned easily.
• “John is very uncomfortable helping his mother up from the toilet. He’s just not used to seeing her exposed like that.” Clothing with Dignity outfits allow a woman to sit down on the toilet without having to remove the bottom garment, shielding her and keeping her warm and comfortable.
